Color archive Museum of Odessa modern art Leontovicha, 5 Entrance — 100 UAH. The explosive emergence of many new movements and trends in painting in the beginning of the last century has allowed art historians to compare this period with the Renaissance. The capital of the "new" painting was, of course, Paris, which tried to get artists from around the world. No exception, and the inhabitants of Odessa, which became closely in the framework of the "South Russian" school. A number of prominent artists went to Paris, and they quickly achieved success. Amshey Nuremberg worked in the same workshop with him, Teofil Fraerman was friends with Matisse and was part of the jury of the Autumn salon. Most of them, for various reasons, return home, and their fate will be different. But they not only leave behind a wonderful body of work, but will influence the development of the Odessa art school and the traditions. About the first of the Odessa avant-garde or "Odessa Parisians", about the fate of the collection of James Pereman and much more tell 26 Jul Eugene Demenok.
