Guy Mintus Trio: concert by the sea

17 August 2019, 13:00
category: concert
place: Location (specified when registering)

Treat yourself with a romantic weekend! We listen to sophisticated jazz, sailing, cooking kebabs to the sound of waves, drinking and sunbathing on the private beach from all! So imagine, your output starts with a light picnic on the private beach for all. Then an easy walk on the yacht under the cocktail. Further musical aperitif and a barbecue party under the sea noise, and light piano jazz. Closer to the concert... White piano overlooking the yachts on the makeshift stage — a pianist and vocalist with the energy of rock stars, able to "rock" the stadium, but also with a subtle lyricist, vocal singing bland ballads. This evening you will enjoy the world of jazz classics with a slight Mediterranean flair and original works of the Maestro and, of course, the unique sunset over the sea. About the musician: A native of tel Aviv, made a career in new York, guy Mintus — representative of a rare type of musicians accomplished in jazz and classical music simultaneously. He performs with international jazz legends such as Jimmy Owens (trumpet, Charles Mingus, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, etc.), multiple Grammy winners Jon Hendricks and Marcus Miller, legends of Latin jazz Arturo O Farrill''s Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Jimmy Cobb (drummer for Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane) and others. Behind him a tour of Brazil, India, USA, Israel and Europe, multiple performances on the stages of the Apollo theater, Lincoln Center, Blue Note, Birdland and other religious clubs in new York. A unique composer, whose style is a fusion of many cultures of the world with passion and Verve Art Tatum and Thelonious Monk, the guy writes music that I love both critics and ordinary listeners. Multiple Grammy winner Arturo O Farrill calls the guy "a mad scientist who creates music like no other". Even when performing jazz standards, Mintus gives them an amazing "Eastern" flavor, keeping, at the same time, a traditional jazz sound. Guy Mintus is the recipient of many awards ranging from the "editor's choice" DownBeat Magazine and "album of the year" by NY Music Daily to Leonard Bernstein Award and victory at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
