Comparative cross-species transcriptomics for lifespan

Investigating the gene expression patterns of long-living mammals can yield insight into the biological processes that account for the lifespan difference. The exploration of transcriptional patterns requires comprehensive transcriptomics analyses. While for comparative genomics established methods based on multiple sequence alignments and phylogenetics exist, the methods for comparative transcriptomics are still in their infancy and analyses are more challenging to carry out.
