It is here that in the unique chamber atmosphere, which has already become the hallmark of the festival, 6 international projects will perform. On September 21, Odessa music lovers are waiting for very different groups, each of which speaks their own dialect of a jazz language that everyone understands. The program will open with a gorgeous example of ethno-jazz, which retained its improvisational essence, without becoming world music. It's about the project of the famous German pianist and composer Hans Ludemann Trio Ivoire. Their music is, first of all, the jazz of the European school, but, as critics say, "with a strong ethnic accent, and this accent is African." An exotic close relative of the familiar xylophone - balafon - is responsible for the features of musical pronunciation in the ensemble. Picks up the musical baton of the trio from Austria Mario Rom’s Interzone. The team, led by the talented trumpeter Mario Rum, will no doubt surprise with their improvisations, spontaneity on the verge of musical insights, virtuosity and subtle musical humor. Jazzmen will try to justify the title of "most spectacular and exciting" artists received from American critics at the very start of their careers. The first day's program will be completed by a wonderful duet of the famous Italian pianist Giovanni Mirabassi and French singer Sarah Llonkman. The musicians will present their new album 2019 Intermezzo, which includes lyrical interpretations of songs that have already become classic songs from the "golden fund" of the Italian Songbook: "Oh, che sarà, che sarà", "Vedrai, vedrai", "Estate" and many others. On September 22, remarkable Greek jazzmen who managed to conquer New York will begin the concert program. These are vibraphone player Christos Rafalides and double bass player Petros Klampanis. Both musicians moved to the capital of jazz, while still students. And they could not just not get lost on the most powerful jazz scene in the world, but also take their place of honor there, regularly performing in famous jazz clubs. The acoustic duo will present to the public a mix of jazz standards, original compositions and covers. On the same day, a concert of a trio from Luxembourg DOCK IN ABSOLUTE is waiting for the public. In their music, critics find echoes of jazz (from the mainstream to ECM), baroque, strictly classical academism and progressive rock. Listeners enjoy an unsurpassed drive that pervades the musical fabric of each and every play. And also with deep lyricism, meditatively which leads to a state of absolute peace, but at every moment ready to explode into rampant fatal reefs. He will complete the official festival program of the fusion trio of the French guitarist Greg Lamy. A native of New Orleans, he has been active in Europe for nearly 20 years. Recognized as a “rising star” at the dawn of the two thousandth, today Lamy hosted an improvising musician, an original representative of European jazz fusion and an active experimenter. At the concert, listeners will find a unique jazz atmosphere filled with the joy of joint improvisation and music of a wide stylistic spectrum: from lyrical ballads to energetic fusion.
