Under the patronage of the Honorary Consulate of South Africa in Ukraine, the Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art will host the exhibition "Mama Africa", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Freedom Day in South Africa. Five famous Odessa artists: Tatyana Binovskaya, Alla Shlyakhova, Natalya Zhura, Zhanna Balaban and Anna Li take part in it, presenting to the audience more than 30 works performed in various styles and techniques.       South Africa is an incredibly beautiful country on the southernmost edge of the continent, combining almost all of Africa. It presents a variety of climatic zones from the dry Namib desert to the subtropics in the east, the Kalahari savannah and deserts in the central regions. It is washed by 2 oceans.       We live where there are no wild animals. Another thing Africa - a beautiful mysterious continent. Once we all read the books of famous travelers and discovered Africa. Remember: “We live in Zanzibar, in Kalahari and Sahara, on Mount Fernando-Po, where Hippo-po walks, along the wide Limpopo!” This is from the beloved “Doctor Aibolit” K.I. Chukovsky.Tatyana Binovskaya is convinced that if she draws her dream, she will come true. She once painted the “Premonition of Africa” picture, and for 10 years she has been living in South Africa, in beautiful Kuiptown, not far from the Cape of Good Hope. “When you first come to South Africa, you are struck by beautiful smiling African faces,” - so a series of female images appeared over time. In South Africa, Tatyana graduated from the Institute of Tourism and became a guide. One day, before starting a tour of Table Mountain, she met a girl who knew English and said that she belonged to a tribe that lives on the mountain. Representatives of her tribe put on clothes made of ropes and walk with canes.       In Africa, Binovskaya opened the gift of an animal artist. Often arriving in Odessa, where her second daughter lives, Tatyana Binovskaya - laureate of the honorary award "Hagia Sophia" for her personal contribution to the development of culture in Ukraine - creates paintings in which she connects two cities beloved by her heart. So representatives of the African fauna appeared on the streets of Odessa: purple elephants walk along Pushkinskaya, the lion's family settled down next to the tables of the street cafe, giraffes dance their love dance near the Opera House.Alla Shlyakhova - in 1994 graduated from the Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts, is a member of Greenpease. The struggle for environmental protection for her is one of everyday activities. Having moved to Odessa, she continues her charity work. The Internet helps her to implement new ideas: the whole world is open, you can learn a lot. For the current exhibition, Alla presented a variety of works, including black and red acrylic semi-abstractions, which can be called passion formulas. Two worlds - man and the wildlife world in the center of her attention. Often these worlds intersect and form a single whole, as in the work “Mama Africa”. "The Magic of Africa" is represented by a number of landscapes in which the spirits of nature come to life. In the caves of the Tassilin-Adger plateau, drawings have been preserved, they are attributed to the 7th millennium BC. The art of Africa does not seek to fully convey what the eye sees; it only outlines the silhouette. African culture developed very closedly, going its own way. She met the European only at the beginning of the 20th century, which had a strong influence on the development of European art. A. Shlyakhova (and not only she) resorts to stylizing African art in a number of her works: but not only the silhouettes of the figures, but also the colorful sonority make up their specifics. “Here the paints of the highest brightness / Do not know the dilution. / The world was painted in these paints / At the beginning of creation.” - L. Vysheslavsky. As a teacher, A. Shlyakhova took custody of Anna Lee and together they wrote a diptych, two paintings, united by a common composition. They depict a river landscape with lushly flowering plants of the humid tropics with stylized figures of fishermen on a boat, freed from anything accidental as in cave painting. The refined graphism of black silhouettes on a green background looks very modern at the same time.Anna Li (Litvinova) is the youngest participant in the project. Recently, she graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Ural State Pedagogical University (Uman) with a master's degree. In her work, she portrayed two Zulu girls against a background of traditional tribal ornaments. So triangles denote innocence and purity. One girl transmits another - a message for the groom, in each color and their combination there is a certain meaning that is to be solved by the groom. The highlight of the work is the combination of pointillism technique (image with dotted strokes) and transparent glaze.        Anna Lee creates her work overcoming serious health difficulties. Unstoppable in a weak body, she inspires others to great things. “When we comprehend our role on earth, even the most modest and inconspicuous, then only we will be happy,” wrote Antoine Saint-Exupery.       Natalya Zhura is an artist and philanthropist. Graduated from Odessa Art School. K. Kostandi. Studied with famous teachers: V.F. Tokareva and K.M. Bogolyubova. The female image of the African, executed in brown-gold tones, resembles a madonna. It is felt that the artist owns many techniques and materials. In another still life, Natalia compares African plants with ornament on fabric.Jeanne Balaban started writing at age 50, but succeeded in 6 years in many ways; with the help of his positive work, he is engaged in art therapy. South Africa is called the "Rainbow Country", so the craftswoman paints her paintings with rainbow colors. The composition with the image of a giraffe presented fragmentarily as a colorful portrait against the background of round shapes was witily worked out. The circle acts as a symbol of perfection. Everything is intertwined in a jubilant hymn to life and beauty. In her portraits of animals, the traditional religion of Africans totemism is manifested - faith in the mysterious connection between the human race and the animal. Bright colors, an unshaded sun made the exhibition joyful and major.              Opening October 15 at 15:00       Entrance to the opening day is free       Next: 40 UAH       #WEart_museum #Mama_Africa
