Historical urbanism: How the Greeks traveled to Hadzhibey in the 15th century

On October 15, at a lecture we will talk about the facts of the creation of Odessa. We will discuss not only the “mention” of Hadzhibiy (Kochubey), but the event that stood behind him.               In the spring of 1415, several high-ranking Greeks from Constantinople met with the King of Poland, Vladislav Jagailo. The Polish chronicler Jan Dlugosh very briefly spoke about this meeting. According to him, the whole conversation was about grain, which is not enough for the inhabitants of the Byzantine capital. For grain, the king sent the Greeks to his port, Kochubeev, thus generating the first historical event in the medieval history of Odessa.
