Reformer painting Giotto

The coup in the development of European painting is associated with the name of Giotto di Bondone. Having overcome the medieval Italo-Byzantine traditions of the Gothic Middle Ages, Giotto created the appearance of a world close to the real one in materiality and spatial extent.               Not knowing either the anatomy or the theory of perspective, relying on intuition and visual memory, Giotto managed to convey on the plane the illusion of real space, and in the images of people - real feelings and passions.              This new art, which is experienced as living, and not as frozen, made a strong impression on his contemporaries. They were inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo. Petrarch wrote that in front of the images of Giotto you experience delight, reaching to a daze, and Boccaccio called him the best painter in the world.              At the Saturday lecture, the head of the Antiquity department at the Tatiana Bykadorova Museum will tell about Giotto and his reformism in painting.              October 26 14:00       Entrance: 55 UAH (tickets at the museum ticket office)       #Museum_ lecture hall
