"Women's project of the 20s: the story of one failure" by Anna Misyun

The term “sexual revolution”, which we habitually associate with the 60-70s of the 20th century, was actually coined by Wilhelm Reich to describe the radical gender revolution in the period after the First World War - in the “crazy twenties” when women around the world For the first time they actively declared their right to life and love in the full sense of these words.              Charming Anglo-Saxon flappers - emancipated girls of the 20s drove around in a car, received higher education on a par with boys.              And they drank along with them, smoked cigarettes in long mouthpieces, danced in newfangled dance halls until the morning, and allowed themselves much more than their Victorian mothers could afford.              Fatal women became the heroines of fashionable novels and films in the noir style. And, if they wanted to get married, then only for the old rich carriers of thick wallets, which would allow them to continue to have fun until the morning.              We are building a new world in which women will be free from bourgeois family traditions!              The same idea on Soviet revolutionary soil gave rise to a slightly different type of “liberated woman” - the builder of the new socialist world, a faithful comrade-in-arms, respectively, of the builder!              Agitators traveled through cities and villages, creating women's councils everywhere - to protect the rights of women, to free them from patriarchal life and “sealed” in the passport sex. Everything, as taught by Alexandra Kollontai!              All over the world, projects of new homes did not take into account either kitchens or children's rooms.
