A distinguished literary historian and writer Clive staples Lewis said "Love in our sense of the word had existed neither in ancient nor in medieval literature." And if love did not exist in the literature, then it did not exist in real life? Around the topic of love in the middle Ages there are a few myths:  love, in the modern sense of the word, in the Middle ages did not exist;  love and marriage medieval man things are not compatible (from peasant to king, was possible only marriage by agreement);  famous courtoisie of love took place purely in literary works, and if it existed in practice, was merely Platonic feelings. To refute these myths, as well as deal with the actual medieval stories of love try — postgraduate student and lecturer at the world history Department of ONU im.
