Meet the snail farm
Snails are distributed throughout the globe. In many parts of the world, their shells are used as ornaments and for crafts; many cuisines of the world consider their meat a delicacy. There are even special farms for their breeding. We’ll go to one of them, located not far from Odessa! We will visit the breeding and laying room; open enclosures for snails; a refrigerator, where snails can be in suspended animation for up to 8 months; and also see how unusual sheep help on this snail farm. We will have a tasting of snails in signature sauces with a glass of white wine (by the way, the cost of a kilogram of delicate caviar of snails with the smell of mushrooms is 2-2.5 thousand dollars). And also on the tour you will learn: - the timing of growing snails? - what do snails eat? - what to do if the snail damaged the shell? - how many years do snails live? - How often do snails breed? How many babies are born? - do snails see? - How to determine the sex of a snail? Date: June 6th.
