Rafael - forever. Exhibition of graphics from the Museum collection

 2020, the world celebrated the 500th anniversary of the death of the outstanding artist of Renaissance of Raphael Santi (1483-1520). Odessa Museum of Western and Oriental art in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Ukraine and Italian Institute of culture in Ukraine has prepared an exhibition of prints by Western European artists of XVI-XIX centuries, made from the originals of Raphael. He was one of the first artists to understand the importance of prints as a means of replication of artistic works and the dissemination of his art, and this, in turn, has led to the development of reproduccin engravings in Europe. Graphic works of famous masters of Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain show the diverse talent of Raphael, the painter, the draftsman, the master of the frescoes, the Creator of the tapestry cartoons. The engravings also demonstrate the rich diversity of the graphic collection of the Museum. All of them exhibited for the first time.
