The mystery that changed us

A museum is a place that we often associate with antiquity. We are accustomed to dignify everything that was created before the XX century with classical beauty, to talk about the former fullness of Art with harmony and ethetics and often sigh about the forgotten "stability" of the old masters. However, we often lose sight of the great many artistic revolutions that each era experienced. The Vedas, those very "classical" masters, at one time, could make "a lot of noise" by shocking the audience with their bold artistic statements. The innovations of the 19th century are perceived by the viewer - as something new and fundamentally different from the strict ceremonial portraits or sweet winged putti.
