Curatorial excursion by Kristina Vinogradova according to the TIRS project

Kristina Vinogradova, co-curator of the TIRS project, will lead an excursion in which she will talk about the challenges in working on the exhibition and how Odessa contemporary art developed in the 90s. TIRS was the first attempt to create a museum of contemporary art. Studying its history, one can see how new genres - installation, video art, performance - left the marginal zone and became "legal" in the art environment. For example, already in 1993 in TIRS there was a performance by the General Condition group - Ocean Defloration. And the project "Light from Darkness" 1994. consisted entirely of installations. Using the example of the most striking projects of Thirse, we will see how this process developed further in Odessa, and who participated in it.
