"Masks in a cube" On November 15-17, 2013, in the House of Clowns in Odessa, the premiere of the performance of the legendary theater "Masks Show", directed by People's Artist of Ukraine Georgy Deliev, "Masks in a Cuba" took place. In the future, it is planned to regularly present this performance, both in its own theater and with tours around Ukraine. Like all the work of "Masks", which is well known to the viewer from the sensational humorous television series, the new program is unpredictable with provocation and a bold challenge to the ordinary. “When I hear the word Odessa, I immediately remember Yurochka Deliev and his“ Masks ”, which for me personify the life-giving spirit of this amazing city. From the very first steps, while still in my studio, the idea of acting so organically and so completely absorbed him that he still tirelessly and joyfully implements it in everything he does - be it theater, cinema, painting or music. " (Slava Polunin)Cube Masks is a no-talk comedy about transforming fantasy into reality and reality into fantasy. On stage, viewers will see a dream performance, where the storyline dissolves into a continuous stream of consciousness. Here adults become children, and everything serious is absurd. The scenes, ridiculously funny, give way to beautiful philosophical images and unexpected trick know-how. Just as one dream immediately becomes another, the mood of the performance changes unpredictably from sketch to sketch. With amazing plasticity and skill, the troupe's actors create not just pantomimes, but a real show, dramatic clownery, the innovation of which cannot be compared with the usual genres.“The main idea of the production is that we all strive to gain freedom,” says theater director Georgy Deliev, but very often we become slaves to our own stereotypes. "Masks in a cube" destroys all the boundaries of perception, everyone can see here something of their own and about themselves, our task is to create something that, in principle, cannot be explained in words. " The play "Masks in a Cube" is based on new numbers and directorial ideas, from comedy tricks to stage decorations. However, the show will also include the beloved masks pantomimes, such as the iconic Mana-Mana-Tynch-Tynch-Tytyrym Vocal Duet, which first appeared on television in 1985, Dance of the Dying Swan and Dance of the Samovar and Cups "from" The Mask at the Opera ". The play is attended by: People's Artist of Ukraine Georgy Deliev, People's Artist of Ukraine Boris Barsky, Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalia Buzko, Alexander Postolenko, Igor Malakhov, Mikhail Voloshin and others. “To speak on stage requires skill, even more skill is needed to speak in silence on stage. No one can explain what is funny, and even laughing it is not always possible to explain what it is. The artists of the "Masks" comic troupe have this happy gift - to make people laugh. Those who have already seen them will not forget, those who have not seen them deserve to be seen. " (Mikhail Zhvanetsky)
