The name of Anna Akhmatova is known to every connoisseur of poetry and high-class literature in general. One of the most significant figures in world literature of the twentieth century, Akhmatova remained in the grateful memory of readers forever as a subtle master of artistic words. Recognized as a classic even during her lifetime, "the merry sinner of Tsarskoye Selo" Anna Akhmatova was destined to go through all the circles of hell: her first husband Nikolai Gumilyov was shot; her son Lev Gumilyov spent many years in Stalin's camps; her best friend, the genius poet Osip Mandelstam was repressed; her third husband, Nikolai Punin, was also killed in the camp. A poet of a difficult fate, Akhmatova wrote poetry not only on her own behalf, but on behalf of her entire generation, as the guardian of the entire world culture, fighting against her contemporary political regime. In the lesson "I clenched my hands under a dark veil ..." we will try to understand what is the secret of A. Akhmatova's amazing poetic speech, her charm and charm, we will try to formulate the basic principles of the poet's worldview and her creative work. At the lecture, we will pay attention to the evolution of A. Akhmatova's creative manner, tracing its changes from early poems (collections "Evening" and "Rosary") to later works ("Requiem", "Poem without a hero").  The lecture is delivered by Sergej Ostapenko - candidate of philological sciences.  The cost of participation is 100 UAH upon preliminary registration and payment.
