Leonid Markovich Chernigov built about forty buildings, went from eclecticism to the principles of shaping Art Nouveau, after the revolution he designed industrial buildings in the constructivist style. He was a supporter of the theme of the Ancient East. Creativity of Chernigov forever made his name one of the most significant for Odessa Art Nouveau. Leonid Markovich designed most of the apartment buildings of the famous millionaire and philanthropist A.P. Russov, as well as projects of residential buildings for other owners and public buildings.
