City Barrier-Free Route Competition

The Provodnik project team is pleased to announce the holding of a competition for barrier-free routes in the city of Odessa. Due to the lack of public access, including Google Maps, up-to-date information on the level of accessibility of urban infrastructure, residents with limited mobility cannot plan their route. They also do not even know what obstacles they can expect on the way from point A to point B. This is not only about people with disabilities. Parents with baby carriages feel an urgent need for ramps, staff call buttons will also be useful for people of respectable age. Just imagine how cool it will be if everyone can move freely around the city, knowing exactly at which stop there is a ramp, in which cafe you can call the staff, and how it is most convenient to get to the sea with a baby carriage. Of course, we are in favor of inclusive universal design that enables everyone to fully enjoy the environment. But while architects and builders understand the new state building codes, we can collect all the information about the infrastructure in one place. Using the interactive map Provodnik.online, the contestants will plot information about the availability of popular routes and places in the city.
