One of the most iconic American films of the 70s, Milos Forman's classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is on the big screen. Our cinema club joins the joint project "Cult Cinema" of the Arthouse Traffic film distributor and the "Multiplex" network - for special screenings on the big screen of 2K-restorations of classic tapes of world cinema. On June 10, we invite Odessa spectators to “Multiplex” in the Gagarinn Plaza shopping and entertainment center for a pilot session of the project - a special screening of the masterpiece “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest”. These special screenings will be preceded by a short story about the film for the audience. In Odessa, the picture will be presented by the representative of Arthouse Traffic in Odessa and the co-host of the cinema club "Arthouse Club" Oleg Melnichuk. This famous film by Milos Forman is ranked 18th in the "250 Best Films on IMDB" rating, is included in the ratings of "1000 films to watch" according to The Guardian and "500 best films" according to Empire magazine. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is an adaptation of the bestselling book by the outstanding American writer Ken Kesey. Published in 1962, the book quickly gained popularity among readers and became one of the main works of the era of the beatniks and hippies. According to the plot of the film, in order to avoid imprisonment, the criminal Randall Patrick McMurphy imitates insanity. So he ends up in a mental hospital, where he is faced with strict rules. Not wanting to put up with them, Randall decides to riot.This role is one of the most iconic in the career of Jack Nicholson, who received his first "Oscar" for her. And the film is one of three in the history of the "Oscars", which received the "Big Five" major awards: for the best film, director, actor, actress and script.
