June 19 (Saturday) 2021 at 10.30 am the author's walk "Poles in Odessa" will take place, which will be led by the magnificent guide Stella Mikhailova. Odessa is an amazing city! She always admires the fact that it was built and populated by people who came from all over the world. And each nation, coming here, brought a little of its soul and its heart. And every nation was proud of what it could give this city. Today we would like to invite you on a tour of POLISH Odessa. From the very first days, Poles were inextricably linked with the formation of the city. And the first mentions of the territory on which modern Odessa is located can be found in the chronicles of the 14th century by the famous chronicler Jan Dlugosh. The fates of many Polish aristocrats, writers, architects, artists, musicians and doctors are inextricably linked with our beautiful city. In general, it so happened that it was the Polish aristocrats who set the tone in Odessa for some time. Pototsky, Sobansky, Branitsky, Rzhevussky, Mankovsky ... According to the results of the All-Russian census of 1897, 17,395 people lived in Odessa, who called Polish their native language. This is more than 4.3% of the total population of the city. At that time, the Poles firmly held the third place in the censuses after the conditionally "Russian" population (then they did not make a distinction between Russians and Ukrainians in language) and the Jewish community. As a result of wars, repression and population displacement, unfortunately, the number of Poles in Odessa has sharply decreased.Let's go together on a fascinating walk around Odessa and see the Polish places of our city and hear many interesting facts about the people whom we rightfully consider to be Odessa citizens, although they have "Polish roots". On our route we will pass from the Catholic Cathedral towards the famous Sobanskie barracks. Let's stop at Polskaya and Lech Kaczynski streets. We will learn about the fate of famous Polish beauties who have become muses for famous poets and writers. We will stop at the Polish Catholic Charitable Society and the Minor St. Peter's Basilica. The excursion starts at 10.30 at the address: st. Catherine 33 in front of the entrance to the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Walking walk in the city center, designed for 1.5-2 hours + tasting During the excursion, we will have a tasting of tinctures and liqueurs. Where there are Poles, there are strong drinks (fruit and herbal liqueurs and liqueurs) . In Poland, it is believed that the tincture is an exclusively Polish invention. In the old days, this strong drink was made in every noble family. The recipes were carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation. There were rules about which tinctures to serve with certain dishes. Excursion cost - 280 UAH (the price includes: tasting of 3 options for tinctures and liqueurs). During the walk, we comply with all sanitary standards. You can sign up by phone 0504624199
