GEOGRAPHY OF PERSONAL BORDERS Psychological boundaries help to feel where "not mine" ends and "mine" begins. If in childhood a person had enough successful experience of interacting with the world, then he knows how to protect "mine": psychological space, body, things, habits, values, social connections, and so on. Knowing one's boundaries and feeling oneself has the right to preserve them gives a person enormous inner freedom to be himself, calmness, integrity, self-confidence. WE WILL INVESTIGATE THE QUESTIONS: • How do you recognize when your boundaries are being violated? • Why do we allow our boundaries to be violated? • How to deal with other people's boundaries? • How to define your own boundaries and find ways to present them? • How do my boundaries, or lack of them, affect relationships with other people? • Where is the line between selfishness and respect for boundaries?
