Sextet of Ilya Eresko: The Nutcracker in Jazz

Familiar from childhood fairy tales of the famous ballet P.I., Tchaikovsky in an incendiary jazz interpretation of the sextet of the brilliant pianist and composer Ilya Eresko, leader of the salsa band Dislocados! This magical story began two hundred years ago, in 1816, when the fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” was published under the pen of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann. Since that time, she went on her amazing journey from author to author, penetrating into all spheres of art. On this way, the plot, image and names of the heroes changed. But the atmosphere of celebration, magic and miracles remained unchanged.       In 1892, Marius Petipa and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky presented perhaps the most famous interpretation of the tale - the ballet The Nutcracker. Thanks to the magic of dance and music, Hoffmann's characters became a symbol of the New Year holidays for children and adults. Nowadays, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Classical Jazz Quartet, Eduard Artemyev and many others addressed the theme of The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky.       On January 20, Ilya Eresko’s sextet will show its version of this story.
