There is still food and there is still art, but both are taking increasingly unexpected forms. It's time for amazing stories from Roma Gromov. At his lecture in Terminal 42 we will find out why food has become an object of modern art and will see with examples what this has led to. Humanity is so inseparable from food that since ancient times it has been using foods as symbols, images, and objects. Contemporary art, with its inherent desire to surprise and shock, has drawn even bread and sausage into the web of conceptualism. Of course, the story doesn't end with baked goods. At the lecture we will be treated to reflections on the topic of food from Odessa trans-avant-garde artists to American fast food painters. We will talk about how still life has become not only an image of fruits, meat, vegetables, fish, game, but also a relay of social values ​​and moral principles. Let's consider food as a heritage, tradition, an indicator of social hierarchy and a fixator of social stratification, food as the present and the future.
