Performance of the Royal Theater "Covent Garden" based on the short story of the same name by Franz Kafka. Choreographer Artur Pita, conductor Mark Albrecht. A man wakes up one morning to discover his transformation into a giant insect, causing disgust and horror to those around him. The idea for the production came to the South African-born Portuguese-born choreographer when he was thinking about working with the Royal Ballet and soloist Edward Watson. This role is perfect for an artist with a long, hyper-flexible body. According to the lead actor, it was the most extreme way he has ever used his body, and the role turned out to be one of the best things he has ever done. Pita wanted to show Gregor Samsa's transformation through movement, not costume. Edward Watson amazes with miracles of flexibility. The bending and weaving of his limbs at times seems simply impossible. 2013 - Director: Arthur Pita Performance based on the short story of the same name by Franz Kafka.
