Ludwik Ashkenazi “The Black Box” / Alexey Gorbunov

.. Each story has a background. The theater and music production based on the works of Ludwik Ashkenazi “The Black Box” is no exception. It all started back in the 60s in Prague, where L. Ashkenazi lived and wrote after the war, until emigration, and continued in those same years in publications of fragments of the Casket in Izvestia. Then there were translations and reprints, which could not but affect the souls of thinking and feeling people. And that was the beginning of the story. The idea of ​​black-and-white, like the book itself, of a chamber-musical performance was successfully embodied by director Yuri Odinokiy. The main character is constantly transforming into various images, with the help of simple, but extremely effective techniques, actor Alexei Gorbunov. What is the performance about? About life and war. About a woman and about love. About children and about the always weak, subtle ray of hope that permeates the dark cabinet of the theater stage and leads the viewer through the whole performance.              The performance contains poems and stories of both Ludwik Ashkenazi himself and Gennady Shpalikov, Alexander Kabanov, songs by Okudzhava, Bernes and Vertinsky, Vysotsky and Utesov.              Director: People's Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Odinokiy       On stage: People's Artist of Ukraine Alexey Gorbunov       Musical accompaniment: group “Sadness of the pilot”
