Creative cluster begins a new research project "City in Culture"! For 3 months, our experts will study the image of the city on completely different materials: literature, painting, cinema, computer games (!), Etc.              The first lecture from the cycle - "A City Which Is Not: Urban Fantasy": 濾              The human mind is capable of representing almost everything. Living in some cities physically, we are able to carry and live lives in virtual spaces. The magicians of the pen and typewriter have created thousands of cities, inhabiting them with wonderful, wonderful and terrible creatures. How to live in a fantasy city and what do such places say about our cities? 樂               Considering the plots of Terry Pratchett’s novels, French graphic novels, series and online games, we’ll think about the following:              ✔️How to solve traffic congestion issues if dragons are their culprits?              ✔️how to live with elves and gnomes in the same yard?              ✔️What to do with overpopulation in magical cities?              ✔️What role do politicians play in fantasy?              ✔️What kind of business is it worth doing on the streets of fabulous cities and where to live?              ✔️What are medieval motifs in magical urbanism?              ✔️What can urban fantasy teach us in understanding the city’s space?              Lecturer Mikhail Kozakov is a philosopher who can talk simply about complex things. Explores popular culture, mythology, the theory of the hero’s path. He lectured on a variety of topics from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales to the history of the plague and mythology of Star Wars Come!
