From December 13 to December 29, the Odessa Museum of Oriental and Western Art, with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Odessa City Council, will host the exhibition Dolls & Fashion. The history of fashion in dolls. "               Opening 13.12.19 at 16.00, admission to the opening is free.                  Doll and fashion go hand in hand since ancient times, performing the function of not only toys, but also a kind of fashion magazine. So, boudoir dolls of the beginning of the 20th century were dressed in elegant and rather bold outfits, about which the mistress dreamed, but was afraid to put on light. 60 years ago, Barbie became one of the most famous dolls associated with fashion. And in the 21st century, we can state the existence of a whole industry of fashion-dolls, which girls and adult women love. In addition to games and photo shoots, dolls participate in fashion shows and become an inspiration for designers (Victor & Rolf, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana).The Kukultura project, known for the German Puppet Christmas exhibitions, and the Max Oscar-Arnold Award. Ukrainian debut ”,“ Ucraina terra magnifica ”, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, the exhibition project“ Stylish Doll ”, the international competition“ Lyalkovy Podium - Handmade-expo ”, the Odessa Theater and Art College, the publication“ Culturemeter ”are conducting an interdisciplinary project designed to to acquaint the public with the role of the doll as a historical artifact, a fashion object, means of its presentation. The project has combined the work of doll artists, visual and decorative arts, fashion designers. The exhibition has more than 100 exhibits, including collection dolls from porcelain, vinyl made in Germany, the USA, and other countries, sculptural and textile author's dolls by Ukrainian and foreign masters, thematic paintings, clothing design experiments, and a collection of historical costumes.          The exposition is held as part of the festival "Children in the Museum", known for educational and entertainment events for children of different ages. For children, as well as for adults, it is planned to hold lectures, master classes, educational practices, art readings, the Fashion Christmas ball with a fashion show, concert and the Haute Couture Doll design contest.
