January 25 is the New Year of China - the year of the White Rat On this occasion, the head of the eastern department of the museum, Alexander Vazilov, prepared for the children a fascinating fairy-tale tour dedicated to the New Year's holiday in China. According to Chinese legend, a long time ago the Heavenly Emperor called animals and arranged a contest between them. He promised the winners the opportunity to rule the earth once a twelve years for a whole year. So the Eastern calendar appeared. Legend has it that all animals participated in the contest in different ways. Some sought victory through cunning and deceit. Others - showed nobility, generosity and were guided by the great power of friendship. At the lecture, little visitors 類 will find out who won this competition, they will also get acquainted with Chinese New Year traditions and take a walk through the eastern exposition of our museum.
