Renaissance women artists

01 February 2020, 14:00
category: lecture
from 20 to 55 UAH
place: Museum of Western and Oriental art (Pushkinskaya str., 9)

The history of Renaissance art consists mainly of male names. Female art at that time was reduced to embroidery and sewing, and the ability to draw simply could give additional points for marriage.              “Real artists” were only men - ladies were not even allowed to look at nudity, not to mention art education. But still, there were women artists in the Renaissance, and, despite all the difficulties, history preserved their names.              The author of the lecture, Tatyana Balanovskaya, will tell about the artists, each of whom was somewhat the first: the first woman sculptor, the first artist in Florence, the first woman to write nudity and become the official artist of the papal court.              And, of course, we will talk about the first, truly famous artist of the Renaissance, a student of Michelangelo, who was friends with the kings, made a living with her art, lived to be 90 years old, and even married in love.              Want to know the names of these wonderful artists?       Then we are waiting for you on Saturday at the #Museum_Lecture              February 1, 2 p.m.       Ticket: 55, 30, 20 UAH
