Kirill Klimenko / About Plato and his State
European political philosophy has deep roots that go back to antiquity. A striking example of such a foundation was Plato. His ideas about an ideal society still continue to interest thinkers. At the lecture we will analyze the political thought of Plato on the basis of his work “The State”, we will follow the development of Plato’s ideas and discuss them. The main questions are: - The structure of an ideal society; - Metaphysical and how it manifests itself in the state; - The myth of the cave and how it relates to politics; - The issue of private property; - Family matter; - What needs to be done to build the ideal Plato society.
