Nowadays, artists, video artists, writers, musicians, dancers and actors are increasingly enriching their artistic practices with performance art elements. Performance is becoming increasingly popular and appeals not only to artists, but also to everyone who wants to get closer to their existential and artistic practices based on empiricism. The Museum of Modern Art of Odessa together with the director and performer Vera Iona Papadopoulou open the Summer intensive school of performance Outdoor Performance Art for young people. From July 13 to August 28 there will be 21 meetings at which participants of the summer school will be able to: - learn the theory of performance art, -test bodily practices based on the methods of Marina Abramovich and Theodoros Terzopoulos, - take acting training, - learn concentration and yoga exercises - create your own performances. The final performances of the participants will be presented at the two-day festival event on August 29 and 30. Classes will be held from 18:00 to 20:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Her work includes interactive performances, video performances, long-term performances, site specific projects, feature films, social documentaries and exhibition curators.Vera graduated from the faculty of directing feature films (VGIK, workshop of V.V. Menshov), the master's program Digital Art (ASFA), the program New Art Strategies (IPSI), Architecture (OGASA), Scenography (LSA: Laboratory of Scenography Athens) and the RYT200 Yoga Alliance . Collaborated with Marina Abramovich (GARAGE- Museum of Contemporary Art: Marina Abramovic - The Artist is Present, 2011), with Yoko Ono (MOMA and GARAGE: Yoko Ono Morning Peace, 2015) and participated in many group and solo exhibitions. Vera Jonah Papandopoulou pays particular attention to the artistic process. She tried herself in various art forms and physical practices and therefore attaches great importance to working with performers.
