July 16, 19:00 Admission: free donation Poet, writer, publicist, journalist, translator, public figure, photographer - this is how encyclopedias define Ilya Grigorievich Erenburg (01/26/1891 - 08/31/1967), the author of "The Adventures of Julio Jurenito and His Pupils," a novel that became a turning point for Soviet literature, the most popular Soviet journalist during the Second World War, the author of the novel "The Thaw", which gave the name to the era, the memoirist, whose "People, Years, Life" became the handbook of several generations of intelligent Soviet readers. Erenburg is a native of Kiev, a Parisian in spirit and a Muscovite in status. How is it that Odessa took a separate place in the life of Ilya Erenburg and why? We’ll talk about this at a meeting in Green. Our lecturer is Gera Grudev. Hera works in the non-profit field. Convinced cosmopolitan, cultural trader, independent curator and enthusiastic researcher. *** The lecture will be held within the framework of the project “Reading at home”, created by the Green Theater to preserve the cultural, namely, literary heritage of our city. So, thanks to the “Reading at Home” project, we take an inventory and compile an exhaustive list of urban places that Bunin, Babel, Zhabotinsky and not only wrote about. These are buildings, which are becoming smaller every day ... These are beaches, squares and parks, bridges and Odessa courtyards. All those points on the city map that inspired writers and poets to great works. And rightly were immortalized in them. At each of these places, the Green team will establish commemorative signs.
