They began to decorate the poncho with drawings, by which it was possible to determine the place of manufacture of the thing and who it represents. They say that in the intricacies of geometric shapes, the Indians encoded the history of their tribe, legends about the world and the gods. Modern ponchos are strikingly distinguished by a rich variety of materials, patterns, and the presence of fringes. Only the neckline and the absence of sleeves remained unchanged.
