Simultaneously with it, the Ukrainian children's book was growing and transformed, and a children's book in Hebrew was born. If the Odessa trace in the battle for good Russian children's literature was always known, then we only recently learned that young graduates of the Odessa Art School created the first books of the emerging children's book in Hebrew.How did it happen that at the beginning of the 1920s, the first children's books in Hebrew published in the mandated Palestine were painted by Odessa citizens? Why exactly Odessa is indicated by the place of publication in the books for kids, from the release of which it is customary to count the history of the Hebrew children's book? Finally, why were the names of four Odessans removed from the list of pioneers in the construction of a Hebrew children's book for a century? Researcher Gera Grudev will tell about the forgotten pages of the creative biography of Yakov Apter, Aron Kravtsov, Moisei Mutselmakher and Efim Khiger, who called themselves the Gang of Artists, and show numerous materials related to their work in the field of book decoration.
