Soviet monumental classicism, or, as it is commonly called, the Stalinist Empire style, is a unique phenomenon in the history of world architecture. Designed and created as an alternative to bourgeois Art Deco. Based on the vanguard of the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, Soviet neoclassicism by the mid-1930s had already formed the basic canons and principles, which continued to develop in the 1950s. Unlike the avant-garde, the new style was supposed to emphasize the importance and greatness of the country of the Soviets, and after the war - to express the pathos and achievements of the victorious people. Monumental order forms, obelisks, statues, balustrades, rotundas and other antique-classical attributes in an eclectic combination with the theme of Soviet ideology served as the basis for a timeless phenomenon on the scale of world architecture.
