Two-day tour: "Shpakiv shlyakh" - by the roads of the Kodym region

"Shpakovy way" into a winter fairy tale! All inclusive! Our route will pass through forests, rivers, hills and canyons, along an ancient and fantastically beautiful land, where we will spend two unforgettable days full of happy discoveries. "Shpakiv shlyakh" - this was the name of the road through the Kodymshchina, along which the Chumak caravans moved. It turns out that there is everything that we are looking for when traveling to distant lands: our "Odessa Carpathians", "Odessa Switzerland", picturesque villages with ancient churches and green estates, original cuisine ... How generously nature rewarded these places with healing springs, forests, mysterious caves and landscapes of simply "cinematic" beauty. First day. 07:50 Gathering of the group on the Italian Boulevard. 08:00 Departure from Odessa. 12:00 Arrival to Kodyma. Hotel accommodation. 13:00 Transfer to Grabovo. We are in an old village where the economy of the famous Ukrainian philanthropist Bogdan Khanenko, a descendant of Hetman Mikhail Khanenko, was once located.All travelers will certainly stop at the Grabowski Izvory to drink healing spring water. And we also have time for an excursion and for a festive dinner with "songs and rosvagami", cabbage rolls and dumplings with "machankas", borsch, palyanitsa, homemade bacon, sauerkraut and a local warming drink, which the soul does not allow to call moonshine. A wonderful klezmer ensemble, whose appearance at European festivals is always an event, will "make us" mood. Do you know who the klezmers are? You will find out soon! 15:00 Transfer to "Odessa Switzerland". This is how often and deservedly called Shershentsy. You will admire the village in the valley of the Bilochi River. The surrounding beauty captures the spirit: the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, entered in the State Register of Architectural Monuments, crowned with the icon of the Pan's well with a pool in which the water is always sky-blue, and around a chain of high hills and ravines with streams. Wells in Shershenetsy are especially revered places. Below the church there is a stone well "Trinity", and in the valley by the river there is an old wooden crane with a well and a baptismal font cut out of solid stone. Nearby there is another well with three crosses, embedded directly into the slope. The almost mountainous relief gives the Shershentsy a special, unusual picturesqueness for our region. You will see! 17:00 –17: 30 Transfer to Kodyma.17:30 –18: 30 Acquaintance with the unique collection of the Museum of Local Lore. Its halls reflect the entire turbulent history of this land, remembering the times of Kievan Rus, the Commonwealth and the Ottoman Empire: archaeological finds, the history of the Cossacks, local crafts, the life of the Ukrainian peasant in ancient times. The pearl of the collection is the restored interior of the "Count's Hall" - the former estate of the St. Petersburg landowner Count Rosenfeld became the premises of the museum. 19:00 Dinner. We continue to get acquainted with the original cuisine of this region. Inquisitive travelers are entitled to a glass or two of good wine. Free time. Overnight. 07.02. Second day. 09:00 Breakfast at the cafe. 09:30 - 09:40 Transfer to the village. Serbs 09:40 - 10.30 Here, in a small village church, a real miracle awaits us: the world's only iconostasis, made in the rare technique of flora mosaic. The faces of the Mother of God, Jesus Christ, the archangels Michael and Gabriel are laid out from various seeds and grains selected in size and color, subtly conveying the features of each image. The author is a local artist Petr Sazonovich Kozlovsky. His paintings depicting Jesus Christ have an interesting fate: one was presented to the Pope, and now it is kept in the Vatican, and the other by the famous philanthropist Peter Yatsyk was taken to Canada, in Toronto. 11:00 –11: 30 Transfer to the village. Budey.11:30 - 12:30 Acquaintance with the village and its sights. We will see an old wooden church. We will climb into the "Budeysky windmill" - an old windmill. This is a real steppe miracle weighing ten tons and ten meters high! To this day, the mill is active and can rotate in the wind around its axis. Inside it, the steps will lead us to the second floor, where heavy stone millstones grind grain into flour. And they have already ground the torment for the leaflets! 13:00 Guests will not be allowed out of Buda without dinner. A lively company is waiting for us for lunch in an authentic rural hut. There will be a unique local porridge (I strongly advise you to write down the recipe) and “baked kartoplya”, and “brynzya”, and nalistniki, and seagulls, and a local warming drink already familiar to us, you understand ... spіvi ". We will not go home empty-handed: in the villages you can "pribati": jam and honey from honey-raspberry Kodymshchina, pickled mushrooms, homemade cakes and dairy products, bacon, eggs, herbal teas, a local warming drink ...
