International Yoga Day 2021

 International Yoga Day 2021 in Odessa is a unique festival, massive flash mob and health holiday that takes place every year at the initiative of India in Ukraine (Embassy of India, Ukraine) This day was first celebrated in 2015 after the speech of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at the UN General Assembly with a proposal to declare June 21 International Yoga Day. In his speech, he then said: “Yoga is an invaluable gift from the ancient traditions of India. She embodies the unity of soul and body, thought and action, restraint and realization of their capabilities .. " On June 21, 2019, at the action organized jointly with the Embassy of India, the Kiev Mayor's Office and the Avatar festival on Khreshchatyk, a record of Ukraine was set - 1517 yogis were practicing at the same time. The organizer of this holiday in Odessa will be the Avatar festival. Avatar is a big and cute summer yoga and music festival on the Black Sea coast. Held annually in September in the Odessa region in Lebedevka, over 7 years the festival has become one of the largest yoga events in the country. In 2020, it was attended by over 1,500 people. The number of residents of Odessa, practicing yoga, is increasing exponentially, so last year more than 1000 people took an active part in the Yoga Day. There are now about 20 yoga studios in the city, and this number is growing. "Yoga Day" at the "Summer Theater" will combine a flash mob with the participation of a large number of people simultaneously practicing Yoga and a city festival dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and beauty.The event will be free for residents and guests of the city. Various events will take place simultaneously in the Summer Theater during the day. Beginners and experienced, young and mature yogis will unite on this day in the center of Odessa in their beloved Gorsad, or more precisely, in the Summer Theater, in order to feel this special subtle and warm yogic atmosphere during joint practice. And most importantly, we will all unite to interest thousands and thousands of people in this almost magical philosophy that heals body and soul.
