Miroslav Skoryk is not just the most famous composer of Ukraine. He is the author of the music for the epochal film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" by Sergei Parajanov. His opera "Moses" is the only work in Ukraine that received the blessing of Pope John Paul II, and the legendary "Melody" is a musical symbol of Ukraine - its Independence! The work of Miroslav Skoryk has long been part of the world's musical heritage. In 2020, maestro Skorik prepared a unique program, combining his works of recent years with the music of perhaps the most mysterious composer of the 19th century - Modest Mussorgsky. An international cast of soloists has been invited to take part in the concert: the winner of more than 30 international competitions, the Japanese virtuoso saxophonist Kenta Igarashi, outstanding pianists of the younger generation: Honored Artist of Ukraine Diana Gultsov and student of the President of Ukraine, laureate of international competitions Maxim Shadko, as well as Tatiana Ganina - a bright soloist National Opera of Ukraine, which will perform one of the last opuses of M. Skorik - the vocal cycle "To the Muses" to the words of Bogdan-Igor Antonych. The program will be performed by the Odessa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Conductor - maestro Igor Shavruk.A significant moment will be the performance of the famous cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Modest Mussorgsky. The version of this work for chamber orchestra and ensemble of ten percussion instruments was created by Miroslav Skorik. This ambitious project, which took over two years to complete, was his last major creative project. The organizer of the concert is the National Concert Agency "UKR Artists". The author of the idea and organizer of the project is Alexander Piriev.
