Between Gothic and Byzantium. Museum Lecture

Between Gothic and Byzantium. Sprouts new in the art of Italy XIII-XIV centuries.       At the lecture we will talk about the periods of the Duento and the Proto-Renaissance, about the emergence of local art schools (Florentine, Pisa, Siena and others).       This time is especially fascinating, because the freshness and simplicity, pungency and delight with which the masters discovered the concept of the world and a person as a conscious and thinking person, after an incredible take-off in the 16th century will dry up.       Creative personalities unexpectedly stood out from among the anonymous medieval masters: Giovanni Cimabue, Niccolo Pisano, Duccio di Buaninsenya, Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti.
